Helsinki (/hɛlˈsɪŋki/; Finnish pronunciation: [ˈhelsiŋki]; Swedish: Helsingfors) is the capital and largest city of Finland. It is in the region of Uusimaa, in southern Finland, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, an arm of the Baltic Sea. Helsinki has a population of 626,305, an urban population of 1.2 million (31 December 2013), and a metropolitan population of 1.4 million, making it the most populous municipality and urban area in Finland. Helsinki is located some 80 kilometres (50 mi) north of Tallinn, Estonia, 400 km (250 mi) northeast of Stockholm, Sweden, and 388 km (241 mi) west of Saint Petersburg, Russia. Helsinki has close historical connections with these three cities.
The Helsinki metropolitan area includes the urban core of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, and surrounding commuter towns. It is the world's northernmost metro area of over one million people, and the city is the northernmost capital of an EU member state. The Helsinki metropolitan area is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the Nordic countries and the City of Helsinki is the third largest Nordic city after Stockholm and Oslo.
A stock exchange or bourse is an exchange where stock brokers and traders can buy and/or sell stocks (also called shares), bonds, and other securities. Stock exchanges may also provide facilities for issue and redemption of securities and other financial instruments, and capital events including the payment of income and dividends. Securities traded on a stock exchange include stock issued by listed companies, unit trusts, derivatives, pooled investment products and bonds. Stock exchanges often function as "continuous auction" markets, with buyers and sellers consummating transactions at a central location, such as the floor of the exchange.
To be able to trade a security on a certain stock exchange, it must be listed there. Usually, there is a central location at least for record keeping, but trade is increasingly less linked to such a physical place, as modern markets use electronic networks, which gives them advantages of increased speed and reduced cost of transactions. Trade on an exchange is restricted to brokers who are members of the exchange. In recent years, various other trading venues, such as electronic communication networks, alternative trading systems and "dark pools" have taken much of the trading activity away from traditional stock exchanges.
The Helsinki Stock Exchange (Finnish: Helsingin Pörssi, Swedish: Helsingforsbörsen) is a stock exchange located in Helsinki, Finland. Since 3 September 2003 it has been part of OMX, referred to as OMX Helsinki (OMXH). Since NASDAQ's acquisition of OMX in February 2008, the official name of the Helsinki exchange has been NASDAQ OMX Helsinki.
The Helsinki Stock Exchange saw its first transaction on October 7, 1912. From then it remained a "free form" financial association until in 1984 it was converted into a cooperative owned mostly by banks, traders, other companies and associations.
On April 1, 1990, trading was moved to a new digital system: HETI (Helsinki Stock Exchange Automated Trading and Information System, and in Finnish a rough backronym for "immediately"), which replaced the electro-mechanical trading board originally introduced back in 1935. HETI enabled remote traders to conduct transactions on equal terms with those in the trading room.
The cooperative changed to a limited liability company (Helsingin Arvopaperipörssi) in the fall of 1995 and merged with several clearing and stock deposit companies and associations at the beginning of 1997. During 1997 and 1998 the Stock Exchange bought both of the Finnish derivative exchanges and merged them with itself to become HEX. In November 1998 HEX merged with Arvopaperikeskus to form Helsinki Exchanges Group Plc, which then changed its name to HEX Plc in the spring of 2001. In 2001 and 2002 HEX acquired a majority share of the Tallinn Stock Exchange and the Riga Stock Exchange.
The stock (also capital stock) of a corporation constitutes the equity stake of its owners. It represents the residual assets of the company that would be due to stockholders after discharge of all senior claims such as secured and unsecured debt. Stockholders' equity cannot be withdrawn from the company in a way that is intended to be detrimental to the company's creditors.
The stock of a corporation is partitioned into shares, the total of which are stated at the time of business formation. Additional shares may subsequently be authorized by the existing shareholders and issued by the company. In some jurisdictions, each share of stock has a certain declared par value, which is a nominal accounting value used to represent the equity on the balance sheet of the corporation. In other jurisdictions, however, shares of stock may be issued without associated par value.
Shares represent a fraction of ownership in a business. A business may declare different types (classes) of shares, each having distinctive ownership rules, privileges, or share values. Ownership of shares may be documented by issuance of a stock certificate. A stock certificate is a legal document that specifies the amount of shares owned by the shareholder, and other specifics of the shares, such as the par value, if any, or the class of the shares.

In terms of area, it is the eighth largest country in Europe and the most sparsely populated country in the European Union. Heading back to Finland - and specifically Helsinki - was our greatest surprise this summer. As the capital city, it has the attractions any big city offers, yet it somehow retains plenty of small town charm. One of the main reasons is that you're never far from nature. Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is a small gem to be discovered and because of its size and the surrounding areas it can be easily visited by feet. If you want to see the city at its best then you’ve to go in spring or summer when people go for a picnic in the parks, dine on the terrace and hopping from one event to another. Food plays a great role in the city with Michelin stars’ restaurants together with street food all over the place, cafes and more to discover. First part of my 2 day long trip to Finland. 09.09.2017 The First day starts at Helsinki, which is crazy busy station. You hardly get any moment when there's no train coming or leaving the station. Then moving on to Ring line to Aviapolis station. Aviapolis is a underground station, close to Airport. On the Ring line are operating I and P trains, with mostly 10 min schedule. Next up is Tikkurila, where I spent quite some time. Tikkurila is also very busy station, like Helsinki. Seeing loads of commuters, couple of long distance trains and a Allegro from St. Petersburg. Tikkurila is great place to transfer from long distance train to Airport train. Next on the list is Hyvinkää and Hämeenlinna. Where's in the Hyvinkää I almost missed my only freight train of the day. It was adopted in 1935, but production did not really begin in earnest until 1939 at the VKT rifle factory. Several variations were made as elements of the gun were simplified to speed up production, and the design was also licensed to the Swedish Husqvarna company, which manufactured nearly 10 times as many of the pistols as VKT eventually did. The City of Helsinki has commissioned two next-generation 3D city models: a smart, semantic city information model and a visually high-quality reality mesh model. These models enable the calculation and visualisation of city analyses, for example on the possibilities of alternative energy sources, greenhouse gas emissions and the environmental impact of traffic. The models can also be applied to the needs of businesses, tourism, navigation, rescue authorities, telecommunication network construction, building management and regional planning. City of Helsinki is already using the models but these models are also available as open data for anyone to use freely - http://www.hri.fi/en/dataset/helsingin-3d-kaupunkimalli ! The 3D city model of Helsinki was the topic of February's Helsinki Lov...

Nice trip through Finland. This Renault Range T got a very silent engine. The seat postion isn't that good. ;) Because of the not moveable steering wheel you barely see the display behind it. It's also better you drive this truck with an extra GPS. ;) I hope the car drivers in Finland are more complaisant then the AI drivers at 19:50 ;) Mods Truck : Renault Range T 480 Euro 6 v5 Polatlı Mods Team http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=224744 Trailer and Skin: Schwarzmueller SPA_3E -= rework =- by MarcDo http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=221282 Skin Pack 2 by DaStig http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=221282&start=230#p707737 Wheels: Truck Rims by abasstrepp...

Carter's ambitious proposals for total multilateral nuclear disarmament are rejected by Brezhnev; his championing of human rights does not win favour either. The Helsinki Accords encourage writers to establish Charter 77 in Czechoslovakia. The visit of Pope John Paul II revitalises Polish nationalism, while in the Soviet Union high profile dissidents and refuseniks gains popular attention. The Soviets continue a conventional arms race, draining resources from a demoralised consumer economy. SALT II is signed, to the consternation of many Europeans because of the Treaty's "double track" provisions concerning the deployment of new SS-20 and Pershing II missiles. Carter's failure to exercise American resolve and strength over the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the Iran hostage crisis and an ...
